We got down to Panama City Beach Friday night and decided to walk down to the beach....B and I were so excited to just put our eyes on the water! We loaded little man up in the carrier and headed that way....all to hear little man gasping, yes gasping, for air! It was so windy he couldn't catch his breath!
We woke up Saturday to a beautiful sunshine...and hurricane force winds....well not really, but they were bad! :) We figured the only way to get on the beach that day was to get a tent where W could hang out, and breathe! Looking back, we should have known this would not be too bright of an idea. But did I mention....we haven't been to the beach in forever and were desperate to spend a day soaking up the sun!?!?
B loaded up all that we would need for the day, as I turned my precious child a chalky white with sunscreen. We decided B would head down first with the "stuff" and set up the tent and little man and I would come down after. Please picture B with a tent, a cooler, a bumbo seat, 2 beach bags and a diaper bag...yes we were "that" family! :) About 20 minutes later, B walks back....defeated. The wind won, and although he laid his body over the tent to hold it down, it wasn't happening! No beach for us! Sunday, we loaded up the car and realized the winds were non-existent...of course! We decided we would at least go back down and let W see the beach, sand, etc.....but bless his little heart, he slept through it all!
We are going to Hawaii this summer to see my brother and sister-in-law...so until then, we will wait for another chance to be beach bums!
