We went back to UAB for our follow up appointment with my high risk OB doctor. Bryant and I were both a little anxious and so unsure of what the day would hold.
Last night some of my most precious friends got together and prayed for our appointment, for me and Henley and for our journey ahead...it was a sweet time that I will forever cherish. Women who earnestly love the Lord and me, and who are willing to walk this road with my family. Bryant also had some time with some amazing men in his life who prayed over him. To say we are blessed by His people is truly an understatement.
As uncertain of our appointment as we were, God was gracious to give us a peace. On our way up Bryant said that whatever we find out today is nothing new to God, just to us. He also said that we are just getting to see a glimpse of what He is doing in Henley's life and the GOOD plan He has for us. It definitely changed our perspective!
We thankfully got to see our precious baby girl today and spend sweet time watching her roll around...and she spent most of the day moving and kicking...she may be just a tad feisty! :) We didn't receive any good news nor any bad news...just news. Everything is pretty much the same as the last appointment. Henley has been doing some growing, which is an answered prayer, and has gained almost a pound...which puts her around 1lb 11oz. Her diagnosis and prognosis haven't changed, but we also know those are both in God's hands so we are leaving those to Him. We had a good visit with my doctor, and she was able to answer a lot of questions we had. It was almost as if we were talking to a different doctor this go around...we no longer felt like just a number on a chart, but we actually had a connection and felt at ease with her...another answered prayer.
We have some hard decisions to make over the next month or so, and would cherish your prayers. We are praying for discernment and wisdom on where to deliver, Montgomery or Birmingham, and which doctor to use. We trust God will reveal what is best for our family in His timing...I am just a tad on the impatient side and wanted to know yesterday....He's working on me big time! :)
We are beyond humbled and grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers so many have given us. We have heard from people we have never met and from people who are literally in different states and countries. Your words have been comforting to us and your prayers have helped us to walk this journey daily. We pray that our family would be the blessing in return that you each have been to us, that we would radiate the Glory of God, and be used for His Kingdom.
Today we saw just a glimpse of what our sweet Father has graciously given us....our baby girl, and a plan that is far bigger than we could ever imagine. We left Birmingham blessed beyond measure!

ReplyDeleteWe praise you Lord that Henley is tearfully and wonderfully made! Your works are wonderful and we know that full well.
Beautiful Henley. What a blessing technology is!
She is gorgeous! Yesterday morning my mom's group spent time in prayer for you, Henley, and your sweet family. I had no idea that you had an ultrasound yesterday, but God did. Praise Him from whom all blessings flow!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful picture. Jared and I pray for you every day! We love you guys. God is so big.
ReplyDeleteI'm just learning about what you guys have been going thru. I couldn't help but cry as I read your posts.
ReplyDeleteI immediately went and got some verses that the Lord gave to me when our youngest (Jack) was very sick and in Childrens' Hospital in B'ham.
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." -Isaiah 46:4
I have not been where you are, but the Lord has shown me in the past year and a half that He is good even during times of heartbreak that have involved my children.
I will be praying for you guys.
Whitney - You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers daily. Sometimes it's as if the Lord wakes me in the middle of the night and all I want to do is pray for y'all. We are praying for a miracle. We love you. Henley is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteHe who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust." Psalm 91:1-2
Sweet Whit and Bryant and William, we are praying praying for your all and Henley. God has this all in His hands and His love will be your strength for this journey. You and Bryant are an inspiration. Your strength is such a testimony to your faith in Jesus. God is doing big things through your family right now and Henley is already a witness for His kingdom. I can't tell you how many times Bryant's quote "Hold on to the only Rope you have." has encouraged me and I have quoted it to others in last few weeks. We will continue to pray. Much Love!!
